A versatile business strategist, Lou's expertise in marketing, branding, and innovation has made him a trusted advisor to some of the world's most enduring businesses and well-regarded brands, including AT&T, Castrol, Citigroup, Federal Express, Labatt, Nestlé, Nikon, P&G, Sara Lee, Schweppes, and UPS.
As the Founder & Principal of Five Mile River Marketing, he helps companies from the Fortune 500 to venture backed start-ups look ahead, embrace change, and sustain success.
Lou's won Bronze, Silver, and Gold EFFIE Awards from the American Marketing Association and served as a Global EFFIE judge. He's a former member of the New Business Committee of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, a visiting lecturer with the Advertising Educational Foundation, and served on the Advisory Board of the Global Rights Fund II. He served on the Board of Directors of Connecticut’s Odyssey of the Mind and led the Communications Committee of the Norwalk Education Foundation, a non-profit providing investment to public education.
Lou recently returned to his alma mater as an Adjunct Professor teaching a new course of his own, “Advertising in the Age of Alexa” in the Hussman School of Journalism & Media at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also an advisor to Farmer Foodshare, the non-profit increasing access to fresh, local food in Durham, NC.
Before starting his own firm, Lou was EVP, Managing Director of Strategy at Sterling Brands directing client engagements while reorganizing the group for growth before the agency was sold to Omnicom. Prior to Sterling he was CMO of Merkley+Partners leading business development that doubled the size of the agency behind $450MM in new billings. Before Merkley he was EVP, Managing Director of the Americas at Ammirati Puris Lintas in charge of key client portfolios generating $120MM in billings and $18MM in revenue.
A continuing student of society, technology, and culture, Lou’s a century cyclist, an offshore sailor, a White Mountain hiker, a printmaker, and a wing and clay shooter. His proudest accomplishments are his three children; his heroes are Caravaggio, Churchill, and Queequeg; and his unfulfilled personal goal is to win the Newport to Bermuda Race.

Peter Morrison is an award-winning video director and producer working in healthcare and corporate communications. As a founding partner at Osprey Communications (now a WPP/Grey Group Company), Peter spent the past 30 years overseeing all video and new media production. Prior to Osprey, Peter had been involved in the production of several television shows and commercials, feature films, and IMAX movies, as well as the first-ever 3D music video featuring Aerosmith.
In 2016, Peter became a Wix certified web designer and started Palm Canyon Digital to create websites for solopreneurs, small and medium-sized companies.
Peter credits his success to his appearance on the Howdy Doody Show at the age of 7.
