A versatile marketing strategist, Lou is the Founder and Principal of Five Mile River Marketing. Throughout his career, he's helped build some of the world’s most enduring businesses and well-regarded brands, including AT&T, Citigroup, Fed Ex, Labatt, Sara Lee, Schweppes, and UPS. Among prior lives in Manhattan, he was EVP, Managing Director, Strategy, at Sterling Brands; CMO of Merkley + Partners; and EVP, Managing Director of the Americas for Ammirati Puris Lintas.
Lou’s won Bronze, Silver, and Gold EFFIE Awards from the American Marketing Association and was a Global EFFIE judge. A former member of the New Business Committee of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, he’s served as a visiting lecturer with the Advertising Educational Foundation and on the Advisory Board of the Global Rights Fund II. Lou is a member of the Board of Directors of Connecticut Odyssey of the Mind and also led the Communications Committee of the Board of the Norwalk Education Foundation, a non-profit providing private investment to public education.

Lou holds a BA in English & Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His proudest accomplishments are his three children. His heroes include Caravaggio, Churchill, Jefferson, and Queequeg. And his unfulfilled personal goal is winning the Newport to Bermuda Race.
